Frank Cortese
Co-owner/Head Coach
There is no one more enthusiastic and passionate about triathlon than our co-founder, Coach Frank. A true pioneer and advocate for the sport of triathlon in Dallas, Coach Frank began competing in triathlons in the late ’90s as part of his health and wellness journey. In 2006, he made the transition to a full-time coaching and race directing profession. With a deep belief in service, Frank served as Chair of USA Triathlon SMW region for 9 years and currently holds the position of North Texas Masters Swimming LMSC | Vice Chair.
Coach Frank deeply cares about his athletes and always makes time to offer extra help, provide advice, or simply lend an ear. He has guided hundreds of athletes on their journey to achieve their goals. One of his favorite places to be is at club workouts with the athletes. That’s where you’ll find him most days, bringing his signature energy to each athlete and workout

Debra Cortese
Co-Owner, CFP. CHC, CPT | Specialty: Women | Mental Strategies & Emotional Wellness | Health Coaching | Strength and Conditioning
For over 18 years, I’ve worked in the health and fitness industry as a business owner, race producer and multisport coach. I specialize in working with women who want to feel stronger, boost their energy levels, enhance body confidence, and embrace a holistic approach to fitness. We can accomplish this in a way that suits your preference whether it is running, triathlon, strength and conditioning, health coaching or mental training.
Together, we’ll collaborate to define your objectives clearly then make a unique plan to achieve them. Our approach will look at behavior change, clarifying intentions and planning purposeful actions supported by consistency, patience, and self-compassion. Through this process, you’ll cultivate sustainable habits allowing you to achieve and maintain your desired results and reach your goals.
I am a practitioner, professional, and certified trainer of Inner Relationship Focusing (IRF), a modality recognized for its significant therapeutic effects. In 2023, I founded Focusing Southwest to offer programs, workshops, and private sessions to individuals.

Maddie Harrison
Specialty: Long Course, 70.3, Ironman distance
As a member of Tri-Now for over a decade, I’m excited to join Frank, Deb, and Linda as a member of the coaching staff. I discovered triathlon in the late 90s like many people have, as an injured runner who turned to the water and bike for cross training. Returning to the sport in 2013 felt like a homecoming of sorts. Since then, I have completed 6 full distance Ironman races, including the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, as well as multiple half-iron distances and even more sprints and Olympics. My passion, however, is racing as a push-assist team with my disabled son in triathlons and road races. A criminal prosecutor by trade, I currently am a full-time caregiver for my son and run a nonprofit, Ks For Keegan, the mission of which is to spread organ donation and disability inclusion awareness through sport. I live in Plano with my husband, teenage son and daughter, and two rambunctious bird dogs.
While I am a relatively new triathlon coach, I have been a youth sports coach for girls’ lacrosse, soccer, cross country, and track and field over the last 22 years. I hold prior coaching certifications from USA Lacrosse, Positive Coaching Alliance, and Play Like A Champion Training through the University of Notre Dame. My coaching philosophy is centered in making sure triathlon fits into your already busy life in order to provide health, fitness, and joy, not to let triathlon become your life. I want you to arrive at your start line confident, fresh, and ready to pursue your goals.

Amy Harrell Holloway
Specialty: Cycling, Short Course Triathlon, Swimming
Amy joins the coaching team in 2025 bringing her warm personality and genuine love for sport.
Amy’s background is in Division I collegiate swimming, competing in freestyle for Centenary College of Louisiana, 2002-2004. She has coached individual triathletes and club swimming since 2004. Since her college athlete days, she’s embraced all kinds of exercise and sports, but her true love is cycling. Amy’s first major cycling event was the Team in Training 100-mile Lake Tahoe ride in 2006, and she has completed other rides like Bike Across Texas and the MS 150. She raced for Fresh Road Racing and completed many criteriums, time trials, and stage races in USAC Cat 4 & 5. Working briefly in bike retail, she can do simple bike fits and help with minor mechanical issues. Amy has also completed multiple half marathons and vows that a half is plenty of running distance for her. Amy’s favorite thing about tri coaching is the determination it takes for a person to become a triathlete. It is a different kind of energy from which she thrives.
In her day job, she works for UNICEF USA raising funds for projects that reach vulnerable children in developing countries. She is a wife to Stephen and mom to toddler Niko, rescue dog Max and rescue kitty Finn. She likes cooking, traveling, mountain biking, and taking their camper to state parks.
Her goal for training programs, especially with beginners, is to build a community, a safe space, and for her love of sport to be contagious. As a parent, she understands that every workout is a cherished moment of self-care.
“Said no one ever: I really regret that workout.”
